I am grateful I met Jennifer through the XXcelerate peer mentorship program as our group’s mentor. Jennifer’s approach to leadership and facilitation is intuitive and solutions-oriented. Throughout my time in the group, I received empowerment, challenge, knowledge of key business concepts, and guidance that saved vital time or avoided pitfalls. They understand the nuances of being a parent, entrepreneur, community leader, and mentor. They are inspired by action and care. Though I am no longer in the mentorship program they still check in and keep me in the loop on resources, connection to sales and growth opportunities. I am forever thankful for them and the example set by their volume of work committed to the BIPOC community.

The event was extremely well thought out, I appreciated that the sheriffs were assigned to different tables. I liked that everyone in the room got a chance to introduce themselves and there was an effort made for that personal engagement. The question about asking sheriffs about their background was pretty unique in my opinion, as it definitely affects how they carry out duties and biases they may hold. I would love to see a joint event happen where the conversation directly relates to equity and how sheriffs feel about how they can incorporate more community-driven feedback into decisions that feel more systematic and drive change from within. What improvements do they think can be made from within and how can we as a community help to uplift those solutions? I understand getting sheriffs in the room to answer those types of questions will be hard as well but it’s something to raise & if they feel prepped with questions before, they can think them through a bit. It was a wonderful event through & through, Jenni’s facilitation of the event really stuck with me! Thank you for such a thoughtful event!

Thank you for inviting me to attend this event!
Jennifer was an amazing facilitator and I appreciated the thoughtfulness of her questions. It was inspiring being in a space where both CBOs and law enforcement could come together and have a conversation focused on agency transparency and listening to each other.

I personally enjoyed everything about the engagement especially the food and cultural dances, and me being to have the opportunity for my son and I to perform.
This event is a well needed event it brings unity in the community. It allows us to experience things and meet people we would not normally meet. It brings community cultures together from food to entertainment. I love the fact it give families an opportunity to learn about different cultures, and resources throughout the community.
